Meet the Consultant:
Farah Erickson, MT(ASCP), brings more than 27 years of clinical laboratory experience to hospitals, clinics, and physician office laboratories across Kansas. As a board-certified Medical Technologist and experienced Laboratory Director, she has dedicated her career to helping laboratories strengthen operations, maintain compliance, and deliver high-quality patient testing services. Farah earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Bethany College.
Over the past decade, Farah has served as a trusted consultant and Laboratory Director for more than 30 laboratories throughout Kansas, providing hands-on guidance in CLIA compliance, quality assurance, competency assessment, workflow improvement, instrumentation oversight, and laboratory operations. She has participated in more than 75 laboratory surveys and works directly alongside laboratory teams to prepare for inspections, resolve deficiencies, improve documentation, and strengthen day-to-day processes. Her experience ranges from critical access hospitals and physician clinics to moderate- and high-complexity laboratories, giving her a practical understanding of the operational and regulatory challenges healthcare organizations face every day.
Farah is known for combining technical expertise with a collaborative and supportive approach. She believes successful laboratory consulting goes beyond compliance alone—it requires education, mentorship, operational insight, and a commitment to helping laboratory professionals succeed. Her background includes laboratory leadership, staff education, quality improvement initiatives, policy development, corrective action planning, and achieving multiple zero-deficiency CLIA surveys during her tenure as a hospital Laboratory Director. Whether assisting a rural clinic preparing for a survey or supporting hospital leadership through operational challenges, Farah provides practical solutions grounded in real-world laboratory experience.
